I appreciate you sharing your idea in progress with me. I know it’s not easy to show your work to the world when it is still fragile, and I appreciate your trust. I look forward to seeing what unfolds!

Phase 1: You Complete The Workbook

Step 1: Make a copy of the Roadmap to a Romance Novel Workbook

If you don’t use Google Docs, you can download a MS Word version here.

Step 2: Work through the exercises in the workbook at your own pace.

You should plan on this work taking somewhere in the neighborhood of 12-20 hours. There is some research to do, some writing to do, and a lot of thinking. Some exercises may seem simple but can prove to be difficult, because you are laying the foundation for your entire book.

I’ll check in a few times to see how things are going. If you have any questions in the meantime, please email me. I ask that you hold off asking any questions about your story itself so we can capture any back-and-forth on our call.

Step 3: Submit the workbook for feedback

Submit your completed workbook via email to jen@jenniferlarkin.com. Please make sure the Google Doc is shared with me. I'll send you confirmation that I received it within 24 hours.

Phase 2: Feedback & First Coaching Call

Step 4: I provide my written feedback within 2 weeks

This will include both inline comments and an editorial letter. I’ll also include a link to schedule your first coaching call.

Step 5: We hop on a Zoom call to discuss my feedback

You leave with clear next steps for revising your story plan. If you’d like, we can record the call for you to reference later.

Phase 3: Revision & Final Coaching Call

Step 6: You revise based on our discussion

When that’s complete, you’ll schedule another call to review together.

Step 7: Final coaching call via Zoom

You leave with a solid story plan.
